Sparkling Birthday

Hello everyone,

Three of my four nieces and my daughter have birthdays over the next couple of weeks.  These next few cards are for them.

The printed paper is Cosmo Cricket DeLovely layered on Stampin' Up Melon Mambo and Lucky Limeade.  The sentiment is Close To My Heart Joyful Birthday stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper White and layered on more Melon Mambo and Lucky Limeade.  The image is Stampin' Up Happy Moments which was coloured with Tombow markers.  The card is highlighted with Star Dust Stickles.

This is perhaps a little on the sophisticated for one of my young nieces but it is colourful and fun so it will do.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Darling Birthday Girl

Hello everyone,

Today is my darling daughter's sixteenth birthday.  Where does the time go?

The printed paper is Kaisercraft Magic Happens 'Spirit' layered on Stampin' Up Basic Black.  The image is Serendipity stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Whisper White and layered on Orchid Opulence and Basic Black.  The sentiment is Close To My Heart Happy Birthday also stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Whisper White.  The embellishments are Recollections Glitter Adhesive Dots.

As I have no doubt mentioned before, my daughter has a real affinity for Panda bears.  I love this wonderful stamp.  These bears have such wonderful expressions.  They are not the easiest to stamp as if not properly inked, the impression is less than pleasing.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Daring Daughter

Hello everyone,

This is the last card in the 'Loved Ones' series.  I wanted it to be a wonderfully happy card.

The printed papers are BasicGrey Sugar Rush layered on Stampin' Up Almost Amethyst.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Loved Ones stamped in Riding Hood Red on Very Vanilla and layered on more Almost Amethyst.  The ribbon is of unknown origin.  The embellishments are Making Memories.  The card is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

This is exactly the kind of girly card I wanted to craft.  You wouldn't think purple, red and yellow would actually work!  Just about anything goes when using this BasicGrey paper.   I couldn't believe I actually I had red and purple heart brads and yellow ribbon in my craft stash and they actually work with this paper.  Amazing!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Sweet Sister

Hello everyone,

Today's card, another in the Loved Ones series, is a full on Stampin' Up card.

The printed paper is Stampin' Up Bella Rose layered on Lucky Limeade.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Loved Ones stamped in Riding Hood Red on Whisper White, layered on Riding Hood Red and Lucky Limeade and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The ribbon is Michael's Dashes, Dots and Checks.  The embellishments are Pebbles Pearl Candy Dots.

I love this card!  It has such a classic 50s feel to it.  I've always loved these roses.  I was so happy to find this ribbon in my stash as it works so perfectly with this paper.  It's rare for me to do such an overwhelming Stampin' Up card but I couldn't resist.  This card had to have a really simple layout because the paper is so busy.  Though I can't imagine either of my sisters would like this particular card, it's a little to frou frou for them, I know there is a sister out there who'd love it.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Great Grandson

Hello everyone,

Today's 'Loved Ones' card is for a grandson.

The printed paper is DCWV Nana's Kids layered on Stampin' Up Lucky Limeade and Crumb Cake.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Loved Ones stamped in Nick Bantock Vermillion Lacquer on Very Vanilla and layered on Dusty Durango.  The embellishments are TPC Studio Transportation Chipboard Spinning Wheel Stickers.

I took my cue for this card from the little truck in the stamp.  I didn't have any truck paper so I used the scraps of train paper I had on hand.  I don't think it will really matter because this card is pretty darn cute.  It is a super simple layout that uses these great stickers to bring it all together.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Best of Brothers

Hello everyone,

Today is the 'Brother' card.  I had my own brother in mind when I was crafting this one.

The printed papers are BasicGrey Oxford layered on Stampin' Up Basic Black.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Loved Ones stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Very Vanilla.  The embellishments are Making Memories brads.

This is another great guy card.  I'm really on a roll with the masculine cards.  My own brother is a really cool guy who prizes education greatly.  He would really get a kick out of all the writing tools on this paper.  I could make up my mind on which brads to use so I went with an assortment and I think it works really well.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Dad's Special

Hello everyone,

I'm still working on the Stampin' Up Loved Ones series of cards.

The printed paper is Recollections Time Frame Second Hand Argyle layered on Stampin' Up Basic Black and Cherry Cobbler.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Loved Ones stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and Tombow markers on Whisper White and layered on more Basic Black and Cherry Cobbler.  The embellishments are Kaisercraft Basic Pearl Strips.

Using this argyle paper was a no brainer for this Dad sentiment.   I love the red, black and white.  It is perfect for a masculine card.  Cutting the paper was a little tricky (and not perfect) because I didn't want it to be uneven.  Like most of the masculine cards I've done lately, this is a pretty simple card but packs a punch thanks to the great paper.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Granddaughter Special

Hello everyone,

I'm still working on the 'Loved Ones' series.

The printed paper is K&Company Butterfly Flat Paper layered on Stampin' Up Gable Green and Pretty In Pink.  The Pretty In Pink layer was dry embossed with Spellbinders Garden Delight Embossabilities and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The image is Stampin' Up Flight of the Butterfly stamped in Melon Mambo on Pretty In Pink and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Loved Ones stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper White.

This is a wonderful card for a young granddaughter.  I did realized however, as I was taking this photo, that I could have also crafted a more sophisticated card for an older granddaughter.  This card is all about the sweet butterflies.  It's a good thing I have so many butterfly options in my various stashes.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Flying High

Hello everyone,

Today it's the son's card.  Awesome!

The printed paper is DCWV Nana's Kids layered on Stampin' Up Real Red and Lucky Limeade.  The image is Visuation Design stamped in StazOn Jet Black and coloured with Prismacolor pencil crayons.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Loved Ones also stamped in StazOn Jet Black on Whisper White and layered on Real Red.

This airplane paper was a must once I saw that lovely plane on the sentiment.  I don't often colour but I needed to have an image to balance out the card and the only airplane image I have is this really, really old and simple image.  I think it works regardless and suits this card perfectly.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

For Grandma

Hello everyone,

I'm still working on this latest 'Loved Ones' stamp set series.  It's a lot of fun so far.

The printed papers are BoBunny Olivia Ambrosia, TaDa Flora and Fauna, and K&Company Julianne.  These papers are layered on Stampin' Up Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive and Early Espresso.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Loved Ones stamped in Bravo Burgundy.  The embellishment is Dress It Up Sangria Flats.  The entire card is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

I originally crafted this quilted flower for a thank you card a couple of weeks ago.  I wasn't crazy about the flower because it's a little busy with so much pattern.  That said, I couldn't undo it so I just set it aside until I was further inspired.  This seemed the right card on which to use it.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

For Mom

Hello everyone,

I thought I'd leave well enough alone with yesterday's grandpa/face card.  I did however have the brilliant idea of crafting a card with each of the sentiments in the Stampin' Up Loved Ones set.  This particular card using the leftovers from the Mother's day card class that I did a couple of weeks ago.

The printed paper is K&Company Jubilee layered on Stampin' Up Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry and Pink Pirouette. The Rich Razzleberry layer is textured with Couture Creations Entangle embossing folder. The butterfly is a Spellbinders Shapeabilities Les Papillions cut from Orchid Opulence and Pale Plum which was glittered with Crystal Glitter Ritz Cool Highlight. The sentiment is Stampin' Up Loved Ones stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Bitty Sparkles.

I loved this card when I put it together for the card class and I love it now.  It always amazes me how you can take all the same elements and make entirely different cards.  I was actually thinking of my Stampin' Up Demonstrator when I crafted this card and she just loves Rich Razzleberry and she is an amazing Mom!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Pleasant Plaid

Hello everyone,

Today's card is for a Grandfather.  Not mine, they're no longer with us.  It was the plaid paper that got me inspired.

The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Close To Cocoa.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Loved Ones stamped in Nick Bantock Van Dyke Brown on Whisper White and layered on more Close To Cocoa.  The tie and pockets (yes, that's what they are) are Almost Amethyst  stamped with Gina K Timeless Treasures in Nick Bantock Charcoal Grey.  The embellishments are Peel-Off's outline stickers.

This is so not my normal type of card.  I don't ever, ever do this type of design.  I was utterly inspired by the plaid paper which reminded me of a man's shirt.  That got me looking at these sentiments, which I love but have not really played with as yet.  I needed to fill up some space on the card so I thought I'd try to replicate the tie.  I had to add pockets because it just looked weird with only the tie.  I'm not sure adding the pockets was much help as I now just see a face with a really long nose.  I don't know if this one is going to make it into my stash...

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Birthday Brads

Hello everyone,

I'm really having a wonderful time crafting these masculine birthday cards.

The printed paper is Chatter Box Inc Dark Tie Circles layered on K&Company Julianne and a navy blue of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Sweet & Sassy Birthday Greetings stamped in Stampin' Up Night of Navy on Whisper White.  The embellishments are from Multicrafts.

This paper, which I used a number of times before, is absolutely perfect for brads.  The intersecting lines and those wonderful circles makes lots of brads an imperative.  The only downside is that you've have to be really particular when cutting it otherwise it is totally lopsided.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Fantastically Fun

Hello everyone,

I'm still tremendously inspired with this masculine birthday card series.  This card is especially fun.

The printed papers are Echo Park A Boy's Life layered on Stampin' Up Crushed Curry and a blue of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Close To My Heart Happy Birthday stamped in Nick Bantock Cerulean Azure on Whisper White.  The embellishments are My Mind's Eye Notable "Cute" and Unforgettable "Firsts" enamel dots.

I really wanted to do a masculine card that was cheerful and fun and these little cars were just the ticket.  I love the bright colours of the flip side of the paper.  Using both the front and back sides of a sheet of paper is somewhat new for me though I can't figure out why because they are absolutely meant to work together.  I used lots of layers for this card because the colours needed to be tempered just a tad.  I'm so pleased with the results.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Squared Wishes

Hello everyone,

I'm not quite finished with the masculine birthday cards.

The printed papers are We R Memory Keepers Coppered Out Tiles layered on Stampin' Up Basic Grey.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Happy Birthday stamped in Nick Bantock Charcoal Grey on Very Vanilla.  The embellishments are My Mind's Eye Memorable "I'm With" enamel dots.

I love the squares of squares.  It really plays wonderfully on the eye when you look at it from a distance.  There are some great colours in this paper that also make it very fun to work with.  This is another offset layout - I just can't seem to help myself.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Marvelously Male

Hello everyone,

Another masculine birthday card today!

The printed paper is Scrap Within Reach layered on Stampin' Up Night of Navy and Close To My Heart Cocoa.  The sentiment is Penny Black Happy, Happy stamped in Night of Navy on Whisper White and layered on more Cocoa and Night of Navy.  The embellishment is My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Oliver enamel dots.

I have a real thing for offset layering.  I think it is because I can really highlight the printed papers that I love so much.  This particular card used a bunch of different scraps that I just kept playing with until I found a pleasing layout.  I so love it when cards come together like this.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Artful Argyle

Hello everyone,

I've another masculine birthday card today.

The printed paper is TaDa Pappy's Patchwork layered on Stampin' Up Soft Suede and a navy paper of unknown origin.  The Soft Suede layered was textured with Sizzix Harlequin texture pad.  The sentiment is Gina K Follow Your Dreams stamped in Not Quite Navy on Whisper White.  The embellishments are My Mind's Eye Unforgettable "Firsts" Enamel Dots.

I've always loved this paper of many different patterns and this lovely stripe.  I've only used the argyle and striped squares for this particular cards.  There are just so many possibilities.  I was thrilled that these enamel dots coordinated so well and I certainly didn't expect to find something so perfect in my stash.  I think this is a perfect guy card.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Nature's Beauty

Hello everyone,

I've got no commissions or occasions on my plate at the moment so I thought I'd do some work on my masculine birthday card stash.

The printed paper is Cloud 9 Design Luster Evergreens layered on Stampin' Up Sahara Sand.  The image is Stampin' Up Lovely As A Tree stamped in Always Artichoke on Very Vanilla.  The sentiment is Verve also stamped in Always Artichoke on Very Vanilla.  The embellishments are Crystal Stickers 10mm Brown Mosaics.

I love crafting these types of nature cards as masculine cards.  This printed paper works particularly well as the evergreens are pretty spectacular.  I think the burlap texture is also pretty wonderful.  I still have a fair bit of this paper remaining so you'll see it again.  I have some Gina K stamps that would also suit this type of card so I'll have to think of something.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Birthday Bogie

Hello everyone,

It's my father-in-law's birthday this weekend.  He, and his son, are golf fanatics so I always have a lot of fun crafting their cards.

The printed paper is Close To My Heart Good Times layered on Cocoa and Twilight.  The image is Jolee's By You Golf.  The sentiment is Close To My Heart Happy Birthday stamped in Twilight on Whisper White and layered on more Twilight.

This is a super simple card that is all about the fabulous sticker.  I actually picked out the paper first before realizing this sticker worked perfectly.  I know my father-in-law gets a real kick out his cards and I don't doubt he'll love this one!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Quilted Berries

Happy Mother's Day!

Today's card is for my own mother.  Love you Mom!

The printed papers are Gina K Berries and Vines.  The star base is Stampin' Up Real Red.  The sentiment is Gina K Spring Blooms stamped in Real Red and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The embellishments are Jolee's All That Bling red studs.

I hope my mother never tires of this quilted star.  I love doing it, but I know it's not for everyone.  Next to quilting, strawberries are one of my mother's favourite things.  Whenever I come across an appealing strawberry paper, I can't resist.  I've not used a lot of Gina K papers but all that I have used, are excellent.  I really think hard before buying Gina K paper as shipping to Canada can be expensive.  Gina K has now come out with inks which I'm really inclines to try so I may just bite the bullet and put in an order.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thankful Star

Hello everyone,

I borrowed a paper punch from a friend of a friend and wasn't as quick to return it as I should have been.  What better way to say 'thank you' than to make a great card!

The card base is Stampin' Up Very Vanilla.  The printed papers are Stampin' Up Spice Cake layered on Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Perfectly Penned.  The embellishments are Doodlebug Baby Boy Assortment mini pearls.  The card is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

The owner of the punch I borrowed is a Stampin' Up demonstrator so it seemed perfectly logical to craft a Stampin' Up card.  I came across some square envelops that I had picked up early and thought they were perfect for this quilted star that I so love using.  Once I figured out the star, it seemed even more perfect to use this particular stamp as it fits so great on the top of the star.  All in all, very fun to craft and the results were exactly as I had hoped.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Minimally Masculine

Hello everyone,

I didn't have any particular card in mind today so I went to my stash list too see what category needed a boost.

The printed paper is We R Memory Keepers Coppered Out Argyle layered on Stampin' Up Basic Grey and Chocolate Chip.  The sentiment is Close To My Heart Happy Birthday stamped in Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Square Durables.

I actually really enjoy making these masculine cards.  It is a real change of pace to keep things pretty clean and simple.  I sometimes think my masculine cards are a bit impersonal but when all is said and done, unless I'm crafting a custom card for someone, I don't want to make them over the top.  I love these Close To My Heart embellishments for this very reason.  They add just a little bit extra without being too much.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Oh Baby, Baby

Hello everyone,

One of my colleagues is expecting so I naturally had to craft a card for her baby shower.

The printed paper is Heidi Grace Baby Words layered on Stampin' Up Wisteria Wonder and Wild Wasabi.  The sentiment and images are Inkadinkado Baby Animals stamped on Very Vanilla in Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi and Colorbox Orange.  The embellishments are Doodlebug Spring Assortment mini pearls.

I had so much fun with this card!  I love the results.  These baby animals are so darn cute!  I don't often cut out images, I'm not really good at it, but it was the only way I could get this card to work the way I envisioned.  To compensate for my poor cutting skills, once I've cut the image, I go over the edge with the same colour ink that I used in the stamp.  It is a great cover up!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Wishful Hugs

Hello everyone,

A friend of my has been sick for a few weeks and is coming back to the office this week so I wanted to welcome him with a card.

The printed paper is TaDa Moscow layered on Stampin' Up Lucky Limeade and Close To My Heart Lagoon.  The bottom layer was punched with Martha Stewart's Gothic Arches punch.  The image is TaDa Moscow Domes stamped in Brocade Blue.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Say It All stamped in Brocade Blue on Whisper White and layered on Lucky Limeade.  The embellishments are Hero Arts Hero Hues Pewter Metallic Décor.

As I often do, I fell in love with this paper the moment I saw it.  You should see the reverse side of this sheet - totally awesome!  I can't wait to try a card using it.  I used a lot of embellishments on this card, not only because the paper lends itself so well to their use but because I really wanted to use them up.  I absolutely dislike these Hero Hues.  There is too much glue on the backs and it's really hard to trim them off when using them singly.  Once trimmed, they don't stick really well.  They look wonderful but they are just a pain in the butt to use.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Baroque Birthday

Hello everyone,

Except for my own Mom's card (which won't post until Sunday so I don't give it away), I've finished crafting my Mother's Day cards.  Today's post in a fix-it card.

The printed paper is K&Company Jubilee layered on Stampin' Up Bravo Burgundy.  The background image is Stampin' Up Medallion stamped in Bravo Burgundy and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Happy Day stamped in Bravo Burgundy on Very Vanilla and layered on Bravo Burgundy.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Brown and Tan Sparkles.

I had stamped this medallion months ago but the impression wasn't great and I had a little smooshed spot so I put it aside to use later.  Later is now.  I used the Sakura pen on the image which really improves the less than perfect impression.  The rest just fit together with the medallion so seamlessly, the crafting was an utter joy!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Glittering Petals And Wings

Hello everyone,

I'm posting another Mother's Day card today.

The printed paper is K&Company Jubilee layered on Stampin' Up Pale Plum.  The image is Stampin' Up Creative Elements stamped in Crumb Cake and painted with LuminArte Cherry Sorbet Twinkling H20s and Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The flower, also Stampin' Up Creative Elements, is stamped in Pale Plum, clear heat embossed, painted with LuminArte Cherry Sorbet Twinkling H20s and glitter with Crystal Glitter Ritz.  The butterfly is Spellbinders Shapeabilities Les Papillions. The top layer of the butterfly was cut from Orchid Opulence. The bottom layer of the butterfly was cut from Pale Plum which was glittered with Crystal Glitter Ritz. The sentiment is Kaisercraft Occasions stamped in Rich Razzleberry.  The Kaisercraft Basics light pink rhinestones.

This is another really pretty card.  Not only have I used all the extra butterflies I had cut but also the scraps of printed paper leftover from the card class I'm holding later this week.  I'm very pleased with the flower, it works well with the printed paper.  I'm not so confident in the swirls that I stamped on the card base.  It's seems a little formal for the rest of the elements.  I also stamped the sentiment a little crooked, even though I used a stamp positioner.  I hate, hate, hate it when that happens.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Wings For Mother

Hello everyone,

I'm on a little bit of a Mother's Day card kick.

The printed paper is K&Company Jubilee layered on Stampin' Up Pale Plum and Crumb Cake.  The Pale Plum layer was textured with Sizzix Pattern 1 and sprayed with Tattered Angels Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist.  The image is Heartfelt Creations Butterfly Medley stamped in Crumb Cake on Whisper White and coloured with a variety of Stampin' Pastels and Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The butterfly is Spellbinders Shapeabilities Les Papillions.  The top layer of the butterfly was cut from Orchid Opulence.  The bottom layer of the butterfly was cut from Pale Plum which was glittered with Crystal Glitter Ritz.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in Pale Plum.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Pearl Opaques.

I'm in love with this card.  It is so very, very pretty.  This piece of printed paper coordinates well with a multitude of solid papers.  It inspired me to use the Crumb Cake paper.  This is another of the butterflies that I cut yesterday.  I'm not as fussy about the Orchid Opulence with the rest of my colours but it isn't too bad.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Happy Mother's Day

Hello everyone,

The girls at work asked for another card class.  I've chosen to do something pretty that would work for either Mother's Day or a Birthday.

The sentiment is Kaisercraft Occasions stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink.  The pearls are Kaisercraft Basics.

Putting this card together was a real challenge.  I knew I wanted some pretty butterflies with some glitter but I struggled with every other element.  Finding paper, figuring out a layout, adding texture or not, there seemed to be no easy decisions.  I think it started to go wrong with the butterflies as I wanted the glitter to be the top element, not the bottom.  That mistake made it challenging to find paper that would work.  The results are still lovely and I'm sure the girls will love their cards, I just wish it had come together just a little easier.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Where The Jewels Are

Hello everyone,

I've the last of my girly cards for you today.

The printed paper is Me & My Big Ideas Mambi Sheets layered on Close To My Heart Sunny Yellow and Pear.  The bottom layer was punched with Martha Stewart's Layered Arches.  The sentiment is Verve, stamped in Stampin' Up Melon Mambo on Whisper White and layered on Close To My Heart Cotton Candy.  The embellishments are TPC Studio Christmas Cheer and Stampin' Up Basic Jewel Rhinestones.

I just couldn't seem to stop with the jewelery!  Of course, this paper lends itself beautifully to jewel application.  I just love this bright, cheerful and sparkly card.  It is perfectly girly.

Every time I've used this Mambi paper in the past, I've spent forever going through my stash to find coordinating colours.  I did something different this time, I went to my Close To My Heart papers and in minutes, had two perfect solids to use.  I don't have room to stash all my paper in the same bins, so I have some tucked aside, which means I don't always think to use it.  I'm going to have to figure something out because there is a great stash of Close To My Heart papers that are just gathering dust.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Perfectly Pretty

Hello everyone,

I often turn to these sheets of papers, that were gifted to me, whenever I have a girl's card to craft.

The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Pretty In Pink and Gable Green.  The Gable Green layer is stamped with Itty Bitty Buds in Gable Green ink.  The images are Stampin' Up Flight of the Butterfly stamped in Pretty In Pink, Gable Green and Only Orange.  The sentiment is Verve Amazing Wishes stamped in Only Orange on Whisper White and layered on more Gable Green.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Pearl Opaques and Doodlebug Baby Girl Assortment mini pearls.  The card was highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

I just love this card!  It is so girly and pretty!  The colours are just perfectly for a little girl.  I hadn't originally intended to add the butterflies but once I started putting the elements together, they seemed the perfect embellishments.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Bright Beauty

Hello everyone,

Still working away at some spectacular girl cards.

The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Whisper White and Real Red.  The sentiment is Stampendous Graceful Birthday stamped in Real Red on Whisper White and layered on more Real Red.  The embellishments are TPC Studio Rockets and Rayguns.

I think this is a fantastic girl card.  Every once in a while, for some unknown and probably bizarre reason, these funky papers really appeal to me.  This is one such case.  This paper is so far from the type of paper I would normally choose but I really like it.  The colours are bright and cheerful, the design is fun, and it is so very youthful.  To offset the busy paper, I kept the layout pretty straightforward, something that I often resort to when using papers such as these.  I think this is perfectly suitable for a young girl.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.
